About Us

Politica NJ PoliticaNJ is a website dedicated to state and federal political issues that affect the Latino community. This website is not affiliated with a political party and is made-up of individuals who care about the future of Latinos in New Jersey. We understand that this community is not monolithic and is as diverse as the United States itself. New Jersey to some extent is ground zero of diversity and Latinos are a major part of this equation. Latinos blanket the state from Cape May to Lakeside and we bring our culture, language, religion and politics. According to the University of Georgia’s Selig Center for Economic Growth, the economic forecasting center of the Terry College of Business, In 2008 the U.S. Latino market was $212 billion. Making Latinos the Nations largest minority market. New Jersey’s Latinos had over 28.4 billion of this purchasing power. However, this economic growth has not yet translated into political empowerment in many areas. There is a continued struggle to be represented in the states many colleges, universities, and community colleges. New Jerseys Latinos have become the economic engine of many cities and towns, such as, Elizabeth, Paterson, New Brunswick, Union City and Perth Amboy. However, they continue to face discrimination and outright acts of hate and violence. Latino children still trail other children in schools and parents must acknowledge that fixing this issue is pivotal to their success. Political power starts with you and should be flexed along with every dollar we spend in the American economy. New Jersey belongs to all of us, to thrive, love and grow in! That is what we are “About”.
